What does the name “FOCUS” stand for?
Twenty-five years ago, when Focus was first founded, “FOCUS” stood for
Focus On Children Under Six because our original federal grant was
designed to serve that population only. Soon, we branched out into
services for older children as well, and we changed our name to Focus on
Children, Inc. Later, we added adult services and our name became
simply, Focus, Inc.

5)
How do
I qualify for Focus’s services? Can I qualify if I don’t have Medicaid?
Our PTI services are paid for with a federal grant, so Medicaid status
is not an issue. Our Waiver consumers come to us from the state, having
already settled their Medicaid status. Our center-based programs
operate from Medicaid funds only, and except in a few extraordinary
situations, all consumers have Medicaid.
