Focus, Inc., provides door-to-door
transportation to individuals enrolled in our center-based programs.
We stress the acquisition of lifestyle changes that will lead to
more independence, and also try to facilitate the integration of our
consumers into the community at large. our goals include the
transition of individuals with disabilities into less restrictive
situations and programs through the awareness of the community, as
well, to the point where people with disabilities are accepted as a
routine, unremarkable part of community life, endowed with the same
rights and access to public activities and places as anyone else.
our drivers make these goals achievable by providing transportation.
What we are looking for in a
driver.
You must be at least 21 years
of age, and have a high school education. You must be able to pass
the DOT physical. All drivers are required to get a class C with
passenger endorsement , drivers license, within 30 days of being
hired.
Focus, Inc. follows the
Preventive Maintenance recommendations in the VEHICLE
MAINTENANCE RECORD BOOK, published by the State Highway
Department.
WE REQUIRE THAT
1) The oil is
changed every 3,000 miles.
2) Air Filters every 10,000 miles.
3) Transmission Fluids changed every 15,000
miles.
4) Cooling System drained and flushed every
15,000 miles.
5) Hoses and Belts changed every 18 months.
6) Tire pressure is checked daily.
7) P.V.C. valve is changed every 15,000
miles.
8) Front Wheel Bearings repacked every
20,000 miles.
9) Tire and Wheel rotation every 15,000
miles.
10) Brakes-Disc, Drum and Parking inspected every
10 Months on all vehicles.
We also
require daily pre-trip inspection by the driver and bi-monthly
inspections by the supervisor. Some vehicles are inspected more
often. Any time there is a problem with the vehicle, we get it
repaired immediately. We have dismissed drivers for failing to
maintain the vehicle.
Focus, Inc.
has a monitoring system that protect children and adults from being
left in the bus. As a driver, your are not JUST moving a bus
down the road, you are working with "precious cargo". you will
assist individuals on and off the bus. We have dismissed drivers for
failing to protect their "precious cargo".
